On Tuesday 5th March, we took a team of 7-a-side footballers to Sibford School, having been kindly invited to take part in their tournament. It was great to play against schools who we don't normally meet in Warriner Partnership events and to have the opportunity to use Sibford's facilities.
The team acquitted themselves extremely well, winning all but one of their group games. They showed great resilience and team spirit to come from behind in their final group match to win 2-1 and advance to the semi finals.
The team rode their luck and defended resolutely in the semi final and managed to hang on to reach a penalty shoot out after a goalless game. Unfortunately the team lost in the lottery of penalties and exited the tournament but can be very proud of the way they all played and represented the school.
The post match tea of sausage and chips at least went some way to making up for the disappointment of losing out on penalties!
