On Friday, 29th November we took 4 teams to the North Oxfordshire School Sports Partnership Cross Country Finals at Sibford School. The four teams had all qualified due to finishing in the top two teams in their age categories at the Warriner Partnership events earlier in the month. In addition, Olivia from Year 6 took part as a single runner in her category having finished in the top ten to qualify.
On another chilly day at Sibford, all of the children ran brilliantly. In the Year 3 and 4 girls category, Eva came an amazing first, followed closely by Phoebe in second place. They helped their team to first place overall to secure their place at the Oxfordshire finals. In the Year 3 and 4 boys event, Daragh came a fantastic 2nd, to also progress to the Oxfordshire finals as an individual runner.
The Year 1 and 2 boys and girls teams also did an amazing job and showed fantastic determination. Nancy came a brilliant 6th in her event, with Emerson finishing 7th in the boys race. There is no Oxfordshire Finals event for the KS1 children, but they have all had an amazing experience and have shown themselves to be fantastic runners. The staff who went to the event were incredibly proud of every child's effort and the team spirit amongst all the children.
We would like to say a huge 'Thank you!' to the parents who accompanied us on the bus to the event, worked with us to make sure the event ran successfully and helped look after the children. Their help is so invaluable and we really do appreciate it.
