Day 3

I didn't think I would be expecting to say this but last night was yet another success for getting the children to sleep and for everyone to sleep throughout the night. So when we woke this morning, everyone looked really refreshed and the sun was shining.

After a hearty breakfast of cereal and bacon baps, the children went off to their activity groups for their day of fun.

My group and Mr Fane's group headed off to Pobbles Beach for a fantastic day of rock climbing and abseiling. We had a lot of bell ringers, pullers and plonkers (all technical climbing terminology, I promise!). When my group got to the top, the children had to shout,"'Ogi, Ogi, Ogi..." and I'm sure you can guess the response. In both groups, all the children successfully climbed all the different challenges they were given and abseiled down the cliffs.

Mr O'Malley and Miss O'Sullivan's groups were going to have a day at the beach bodyboarding. The first challenge was to get into their wet suits; this proved to be interesting. However, having eventually managed it, they headed off to LLangennith Beach for body boarding. The sun was shining, the beach was glorious, the waves were perfect and the children loved it. Being in the water meant at least we can guarantee the children have had a wash!!

The evening meal consisted of roast chicken, stuffing balls, roast potatoes and a medley of vegetables followed by chocolate mousse (Angel Delight - yum!) and cream. I can honestly say the food is really good, their is plenty of it and the children are not going hungry. They even get homemade cookies and fantastic flapjack to eat whilst out on activities!

After filling their stomachs it was time to don walking boots and we all went for an evening walk to Pennard Castle. The ruins of Pennard Castle are situated on the hill overlooking the valley leading down to Three Cliffs bay. We enjoyed a moment where the children sat silently looking out over the bay.

They are now settling in for their penultimate night in their dorms before their final full day of activities.
