Scarab Beetles
In Ancient Egyptian times, the scarab beetle was known as Kepri, the rising sun. They believed that every night the sun made a journey through the Underworld on solar boat, to be reborn again. Kepri represents the rising sun and he is portrayed as pushing the sky up into the sun.
