Tuesday 11th October saw two teams travelling to Warriner for the Warriner Family Tag Rugby competition which in previous years has been a very successful event for Dr Radcliffes.
Our 'A' team, containing some experienced players and with high expectations of themselves won each of their three group games to top the group and reach the quarter finals. The 'B' team, with some brilliant and positive team performances won two and lost one of their group games, resulting in a second place finish in their group and their own quarter final place.
Coming up against some tough opposition, the 'B' team's great tournament came to an end at the quarter final stage, but the whole team should be very proud of how they played and how far they progressed. The 'A' team had a tough quarter final game themselves against Deddington which was won with a 'golden try' in added time after the match finished all square. Another tough game in the semi-final seemed to be slipping away until a late comeback again meant that Dr Radcliffe's came out as winners after a late try. The final itself was yet again a tight affair, but this time the team couldn't quite find a way back after going behind and narrowly lost out.
By qualifying for the final, the 'A' team have earnt a place in the North Oxfordshire finals, later next term.
Congratulations to everyone who played. They can be very proud of the their performances and for playing with a positive attitude and great sportsmanship.
