On Wednesday 2nd March a team of seven Year 6 girls took part in the Warriner Partnership High 5 Netball Festival. We played against three other schools in 5 matches were everyone played in different positions, swapping half way through each match.
We won out first game again Deddington A 8:3, then in a tough match against Christopher Rawlins we won 3:0 – Mrs Goldsworthy had told us we had to win this match so she was very pleased! In our next match again Bloxham B we won 10:0 and against Deddington B we won 18:0.
The final match of the festival proved to be the decider for the winner of the whole festival and it was against the team we knew would be a challenge, Bloxham A. It was a brilliant match, quickly moving from one end of the court to the other, goal to goal and with about 3 minutes to go the score was 5:5.
In a tense final few minutes we managed to score another goal but Bloxham kept trying to get the equaliser. Finally in the last minute of the match we scored another goal and breathed a big sigh of relief when the final whistle blew. The final score was Bloxham 5, Dr Radcliffe’s 7.
As a result of winning we were put through to the finals but unfortunately they clashed with our London Trip so we hope Bloxham A win on our behalf.
