Class 3 had a wonderful day of outdoor learning on our school trip to the Warriner Farm.
We began the day learning about the importance of plants as a food source and had a go at grinding wheat seeds to make wholemeal flour. We became leaf detectives and identified local trees by studying the shape of their leaves, then went on to make our own biodegradable plant pots and planted sunflower seeds.
You can see our fantastic plant diagrams that we created using natural materials and then labelled the main parts. We definitely went potty about plants!
In the afternoon we played the pollination game, which was one of the most popular activities of the day. If you want to know more you will have to ask someone in class 3...
We ended the day with a walk around the farm meeting the animals.
A big thank you to the parent helpers who gave up their time to come along with us (Ben's dad, Tamsin's mum and Daisy's mum).
