On Thursday 22nd October, we took two teams to take part in the Warriner Family Tag Rugby Tournament.
Both teams competed brilliantly in the group stage, scoring some excellent tries and growing with confidence as the group stage progressed. The B team were not quite able to make it past the group stage despite a valiant team effort and one of the tries of the tournament form Seb, who beat an entire team (some of them twice!) to score.
The A team topped their group due to fantastic teamwork in defence and some superb team and individual tries. A tense and exciting quarter final against Bloxham went all the way to extra time as the sides were tied at two all. After some determined last ditch defending in a hard fought contest, Dr Radcliffe's managed to score the decisive try which took them through to the semi final.
The semi final was again a tough game, but the team, growing in confidence by now, came through to set up a final against Sibford Gower.
Dr Radcliffe's raced into an early lead in the final, before being pegged back as the game progressed. With the scores even at 4 each, Alex burst through to score the winning try late on and clinch a famous victory.
Huge congratulations to both teams for the way that they played and the brilliant sportsmanship and teamwork everyone demonstrated. The A team now have a North Oxfordshire final to look forward to after half term.
