We use the RWInc Get Spelling Programme for the majority of children in Class 2. This informs the spellings that children work in each week and are subsequently tested on each week. Some children may still be working through the RWInc phonics programme will have spellings based on the Set 2 and Set 3 speed sounds.
Spellings are given out on a Monday and tested on the Friday of each week. Your child's test score will be written on the new sheet of spellings.
Children are asked to use the Look, Cover, Write, Check approach to help learn their spellings on one side of their spellings sheet as well as write a sentence for each word listed using the handwriting lines on the back. Children should use a pencil on their spelling sheet and think carefully about applying the handwriting skills they have been taught as well practise the joins they have been taught.
