Dr Radcliffe’s School is very much a “Family Affair” for the Parsons family. My daughters, Charlotte and Imogen both completed their primary education here; my wife works in the school and I have been a governor here since Charlotte started in Year 1 , seventeen years ago. I was brought up and educated in Nottingham and then went to University in Manchester to read Civil Engineering. A change of career took me into the aviation industry where I have been employed for over thirty years. My “governor’s career” has been almost as long, nearly twenty five years! My particular interests are finance and school buildings. I believe that the role of a governor is very much to support the school in all that it aims to do and achieve but at the same time “question and guide” where it is appropriate. Dr Radcliffe’s is a school with a long history of excellence; I am sure that this will continue under the current head teacher, staff and governors.
